But only when quality can carry you through decades of sunshine and heat.. “silver solder” and “Non Corrosive flux” is used in the bonding process with fitting to tube channel technology for a super strong riser bond. This is a superior style of construction proven to last fifty years or more.

Quality

A light, durable crystal clear acrylic glazing is used to “let the sun shine in” Acrylic is actually clearer than glass and can resist higher levels of thermal shock. The aluminum enclosure is fastened with stainless steel screws and aluminum rivets, making it strong and virtually corrosion proof.

Hurricane Resistant

Unlike other collectors there’s no plastic in our frame! All metal construction with five added “ribs” for strength makes this collector the strongest most wind resistant collector on the market. This is paramount for collectors installed in hurricane zones.

A major advantage in the designing of the Hot Plate Collector is the unique removable side panel allowing the entire absorber plate to slide out for service. The acrylic glazing does not have to be removed, or lifted, to repair or fix internal piping. This eliminates the risk of cracking the glazing during repair. Clear acrylic glazing is commonly used for greenhouse exterior glass, but our customers love it because it is 60 pounds lighter making our collector easy to install and less expensive for shipping. Any plumber, with standard tools and locally available parts, can easily perform necessary repair without removing the collector from the roof. This makes servicing the Hot Plate Collector a simple procedure and can be completed in a lot less time. Believe me when I tell you that this is not the case with other collectors on the market.
